I am not very sure about the Tai bao you mentioned here. Do you mean this one? . We call it Gua Bao, it is steamed buns with opens.

Thanks for the suggestion, I found it is quite hard for me to describe the steps in words. I will upload a video after the trip to Shanghai. If you cannot make it pretty, just seal them and you are ok with the buns.
