I have the same question, don’t see the amount of slab sugar to use, and can I substitute with light brown sugar instead.

I love your recipies and your site! I would love to make Nian Gao tonight, it looks delicious, and of course I can always use a little luck too! 🙂

But, I don’t see the amount of slab brown sugar in the recipe? Did I miss it or were you so excited to post this great recipe it got overlooked?

Also, for those who have no slab brown sugar, could light brown sugar be substituted, and if so, what amount would be used?
